Tripalgarve Real Estate is now Homiberia

Same company, same licence, same team. Why the name changed, what it means for your listing or purchase, and what happens to your old links and email addresses.

Tripalgarve Real Estate is now Homiberia. Same company, same licence, same team, the same people you have been dealing with. What changed is the name, and the website underneath it. If you have a property listed with us or a purchase in progress, nothing you signed is affected and there is nothing you need to do.

That is the short answer. The longer one is worth reading if you have ever wondered what we actually do, because for years our own name was giving people the wrong impression.

Why the name changed

We asked people. Somewhere in a first conversation we would ask what they had expected when they found us, and the same answer kept coming back: holidays.

They were right, and that is the part worth saying plainly. Tripalgarve started as a holiday company, and it still is one. The name was not a bad choice, it was an accurate one — hotels, trips, the Algarve, exactly what it said.

Then we moved into property as well, and opened Tripalgarve Real Estate as the branch that did it. Over time that branch became where most of our attention went. Two businesses, sharing one name between them.

That is what stopped working. A name that was exactly right for one of them was the first thing a seller read about the other. People arrived expecting a booking site and found an estate agency. We would end up explaining which half of the company they had reached before we could get to their property, and a name you have to explain is one that is costing you conversations you never knew you lost.

The second reason sat in the other half of the word. Algarve is where we work, and it is where our knowledge is worth something. But it is a ceiling written into the name. We want to work elsewhere in Portugal, and in Spain, and a business called Tripalgarve arriving in Madrid explains itself badly.

The third reason took the longest and is the one we would have found hardest to explain a few years ago. We rebuilt the company around AI — not a chatbot bolted onto the old site, but the thing underneath: how listings are described, how they are found, how a question gets answered, how a property reaches the assistants people now ask instead of a search box.

Our reading of it, and this is a view rather than a fact: a business that does not absorb this gets out-run by one that has. We did not want to find out slowly. The rebuild took long enough, and changed enough, that carrying the old name over it started to feel like putting a new engine in a car with somebody else’s badge on the front.

What has not changed

Most of it. This is a change of name and of tooling, not of staff or obligations.

  • The same legal company. Homiberia and Tripalgarve Real Estate are one business.
  • The same AMI licence. Our registration as a licensed Portuguese estate agency carried over intact.
  • The same team. Nobody left because of the rebrand, and the people you have been emailing are the people you will keep emailing.
  • The same contracts. Every existing mandate, listing agreement and offer in progress stands exactly as signed.
  • The same family behind it. Homiberia was founded by Marie Mercier and her son Richard, and still is.

What happens to your old links and emails

This is the part with something in it for you to do, and it is small.

  • Old Tripalgarve Real Estate web addresses redirect to homiberia.com. You will pass through a short page telling you about the rebrand first, so the jump is not a surprise.
  • Saved links and bookmarks will keep working through that redirect. Updating them to homiberia.com is tidier, but nothing breaks if you do not.
  • Emails to your old @tripalgarve.com contact still arrive. Those addresses stay live as aliases and are not being switched off.
  • Mail from us will start arriving from the new domain as the team moves across. If a message from a familiar name arrives from a homiberia.com address, that is why.

What Homiberia is

A licensed Algarve estate agency, run by the same mother and son, with a multilingual team and a network of co-agents we sell alongside rather than compete with. That model has not changed either — it is the reason a property listed with us reaches buyers through more agents than our own.

What is new is underneath. The site you are reading this on was built so that a property can be understood by a person and by the AI assistants that person increasingly asks first. Every listing is written to be read both ways. That is the work the new name is for.

If you have dealt with us before, you will not notice much difference in how we work. If you have not, the name will at least now tell you what we do.

Is Homiberia the same company as Tripalgarve Real Estate?
Yes. It is the same legal company under a new name, with the same AMI licence and the same team.
Do I need to sign anything again?
No. Existing mandates, listing agreements and offers in progress are unaffected by the name change and stand as signed.
Will my old emails still reach you?
Yes. @tripalgarve.com addresses remain live as aliases. Outgoing mail from our team will gradually move to the homiberia.com domain.
Does tripalgarve.com still exist?
Yes, and it is still trading. It remains the holiday side of the business, selling Algarve hotel deals as it always has. The property side now lives at homiberia.com, and old property links redirect there.
Are you leaving the Algarve?
No. The Algarve is where the entire business operates today. The name was chosen so it would not cap us later, but there is no announced plan or date for working elsewhere.
